Thank you for praying for the Church of God in Illinois! We believe that, as we pray, God will do amazing things among us (Jeremiah 33:3). We are calling upon all of our leaders, members and friends to cover the ministry in prayer. For your convenience, we have listed some of the most vital requests. Feel free to pass this list along to others who will pray. Please consider praying daily over these needs. Or, commit to “
Top Ten Tuesday
” where once a week we pray for the needs that are listed. However you participate, thank you for praying!

Top Ten Prayer Requests:

  1. For unity of mission and vision among the Church of God in Illinois. That there will be no division among us. That we will be one, even as God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit are one (John 17). That people of all ages, cultures and nationalities will unite under the headship of Jesus Christ.
  2. For protection for our pastors and leaders, their marriages and their families. That God will cover them spiritually, physically, relationally, emotionally, mentally, financially and in every other way. That no plans of the evil one will succeed and only God’s plans for them will be fulfilled. (Psalms 20:4)
  3. For fulfillment of the FINISH Commitment, the Great Commission in our churches and members. We must make disciples of all people (Matthew 28:19-20) or we fail as a church. That making disciples will become the primary focus of all of our churches.
  4. For a missional heart among our pastors and churches. That we will be outwardly focused rather than inwardly focused. That we each realize that the church does not exist to benefit us. That we will each realize and fulfill our call to be missionaries to Illinois. (I Thessalonians 1:8) That we will not wait to receive support from others but that we will go out in support of others.
  5. For provision of resources in our churches; for generous hearts and willingness to tithe, give and support ministry. That this generosity will result in increased blessings for our churches and members. (II Corinthians 9:6)
  6. For numerical and spiritual growth among all of our churches. If we are not growing, we are dying. That our pastors will be directed by the Spirit to develop a growth strategy that will result in many people coming into the church from the surrounding community. (Acts 2:47)
  7. For new churches and church planters to be raised up from the churches in Illinois. We need strong churches in our major cities and communities around the state. (II Thessalonians 3:1)
  8. For a great move of the Spirit of God among our churches; for spiritual renewal and revival that will result, as it always does, with many souls being saved and many lives being changed. (Acts 2:41)
  9. That our pastors and churches will read the Word of God and will live the Word of God. That we each will participate in reading through the Bible in 2017 and that we will become doers of the Word. That this participation will result in great spiritual maturity among us, that it will produce a great depth of worship and a great harvest of souls. (James 1:22)
  10. That the will of God will be accomplished here on earth in our churches, even as it is in heaven. (Matthew 6:10)
